Night’s Mama

Night’s Mama

It was a pleasure to walk down the road, around one corner and there under a mango tree, meet Night’s mother.  She used to live in a pig sty near Ripon but allowed us to move her to be closer to Emmanuel House. Night is able to see her in the day!! and she is taken food from the House each evening so that she no longer needs to go to the bus park to pick through the bins.  The girls collect water for her and help with the chores. Her health has much improved and she is so happy.  The rented house  (two tiny  rooms)  is kept immaculate, mainly because she has so few possessions.  She sells little piles of charcoal to passers by, which gives her some independence and literally the widows mite to give to God on a Sunday.  How unbelieavably humbling.
